I hate commuting! My morning started off on a long note. First, I had to wait as two busses showed up at the bus stop but were full to the max causing those of us waiting in the windy cold to wait for another bus. 20 minutes later, I finally made it on a bus and off to Canning Town Underground station. I was not out of the woods yet! I arrived to the platform but the first train was full to the brim just like the bus! Argh this was starting to get annoying. I made it on the second train and had to stand hunched over right next to the door. For those that have never seen the London Underground during rush hour, picture a sardine can where you can’t move until the doors open and some gets off. Really it is interesting. I survived the commute thanks to iPod (the best investment EVER). Finally got to work around 09.15, an hour and twenty minutes AFTER I left my house.
Enough complaining about my commute this morning. At work I have been busy working on contest entries and newsletters. My project for tomorrow and next will be to call on pubs and sports bars that are having SUper Bowl XXXVIII parties and seeing if we can help sponsor them and get the channel involved. On another note, if you are going to text message or call my mobile, US or UK numbers, PLEASE be aware of the time change. I had two phone calls last night that came in at like 03.00 am from random people including a person from the St. Petersburg YMCA asking for a lifeguard sub tomorrow (Don’t ask me WHY they called my UK number) and I was not happy about that. Have a good night all.

Hello from sunny and clear London. Today it is very mild and the sun is shinning in my office window. Today was another quiet day here at the NASN London office with Heidi, my supervisor out sick again. I have now started a new task in my internship which now covers the IT role in the office. I have been setting up printers on the network, taking care of viruses and setting up new internet connections. Certainly a new role to my internship. All settled in here in London but the warmth of sunny Florida and Disney World are in the back of my mind constantly as there are adverts all over the place for both here in London.

Today I am back at the office of NASN while Peter and Pam settle back in at Badminton Mews. Really chilling and wet today. The wind is very gusty and the rain is heavy. I’m getting settled in to a routine of waking up at 7.15 followed by getting a shower and getting ready for the day and breakfast before I head out for my commute at about 8.15. I walk a block or two from Peter and Pam’s to the bus stop where I then catch a bus (69 or 474) to Canning Town station where I get on the Jubilee Line for the London Underground. I stay on the Jubilee Line until I arrive at Green Park where I then have a long hike across the station to the Picadilly Line and then proceed eastbound to Picadilly Circus. From there, it is a 2 block walk to my office. This whole commute takes roughly 35 to 40 minutes depending on the day. Once at the office, I usually get settled in and work for the day answering phones or typing releases/scripts. Then around 17.30, I reverse the trek and head back to the Docklands arriving home around 18.30. From there, it is a light dinner and then I usually settle in for a little television before calling it a night. So there is a my daily routine roughly. Not much exciting and new to report and the London updates may start to dwindle until something significant happens.

Hello once again from London. This weekend was a nice relaxing one for me. Yesterday I slept in for a bit and then went over to ExCel to see the London Boat Show before venturing off to Canary Wharf and the supermarket later on in the day. Some interesting old boats that you could walk around on and a Royal Navy frigit was also on hand. Sorry no pictures due to security reasons. It was also fun as there were a group of sailors practicing for a regatta righti n the river in front of ExCel and Peter and Pam’s flat. Simply briliant to watch I think.
Today was another day of sleeping in. I then awoke and got ready for the day and helped Peter and Pam get unpacked and settled back in here in London after their visit to the US of A for the last month. Went out shopping again with Peter to get some more groceries as well. Work tomorrow so it will be an early night. One thing I found intersting tonight was that the BBC airs a show every sunday called ‘Songs of Praise’ which most Brits watcha nd sing to. It goes thorugh most of the popular religious songs. Tonights show ened with a combination of Shine Jesus Shine and Thine is the Glory. Sort of internesting and something you don’t see on Prime Time televiswion in the US of A.

It is now the weekend and I am looking forward to some time off already. I have been enjoying my internship the last couple of days but the chance to sleep in tomorrow is looking very nice. Nothing big planned for this weekend. I may or may not see my friends in the ‘Eckerd Bubble’ tomorrow as things are still up in the air on what they will be doing. Peter and Pam are back on Sunday so I think tomorrow I will get some groceries for them and clean up so it is all sparkling clean for them when they arrive on Sunday. Sorry not much else to report. Since I am not going to a new museum each day like last year, my updates will probably slow down a little. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail though if you want to chat as I have my e-mail up all day at work.

Hello once again from wet and cold London. Today it rained most of the day which made the commutes very icky if you ask me. It was the light rain that when the wind blows, it stings. Not fun at all. Day 2 at NASN went well. I did a lot of data entry which wasn’t as fun but I did get to write an original script for a radio program. My cousin Chris and his friend met me at work this evening and we went out for dinner in Leicester Square before I showed them where the Eckerd College Study Centre was. It was nice to see someone I knew other than the ‘Eckerd Bubble’. Not much else new to report. I have gotten in to a routine of communiting in the evenings and mornings now with the rest of the Londers and I think I’m a pro at it.

Hallo folks. Today was my first day at the North American Sports Network‘s London Office. The office is very small and only has a staff of 6-7 people including myself. The main office is in Dublin which I may get a chance to visit on a day trip should there be a need. The people at the office seem fun and I think part of my tasks will be running around doing things for the office such as making tea as I had to do this afternoon for a meeting. I had never made tea before so it was a learning experience never the less. The office couldn’t beleive that I had never made tea before which made a for a good laugh. In another intersting twist, several events this month that the NASN will be sponsoring are located in Minneapolis, MN. How funny would it be if I was to travel back home to cover an event? Intersting thought I guess. The commute to work isn’t too bad. I get on one underground train and ride it up about 8 stops before changing to another line for one stop and then walk a block or two. Total travel time is roughly 45 minutes (my iPod is for sure getting a work out this trip).
Tomorrow I head in to work at 09.00 and then will meet up with my cousin Christopher around 17.30 for dinner while he is in London. Wow, have I been here a week? Man does time fly. Not sure on the weekend plans yet but thena gain, it is only Wednesday evening. Might do something with Christopher or with my Eckerd College friends or even both. Peter and Pam Bertrand arrive back home on Sunday so I will finally no longer be on my own per say in London.

Well, I am all set to begin my internship in the morning at 11:00. Today I am pretty knackered after walkingall over town with my frineds from Eckerd. Mostly just walking around and shopping since most of them just arrived. Doing some wash now and then settling in for an early night. got to catch this new reality show on Channel 4 over here called ‘Shattered‘. This show has a cash prize of £100,000 for the person that survives a week with out sleep. There are 12 or so to beginwith but each night, they eliminate people. Yea it’s another reality show but it’s funny at the same time. Well, that’s all for now.

Well, it was another cloudy/drizly day here in London. This morning I ventured back over to the West End and Gower Street to visit Sylvia, the housekeeper and the Eckerd College House, and some friends that arrived last night and this morning for the winter term. Took them around the town a little to show them what was around the Eckerd house so they could explore more. After walking around and ending up Big Ben and Westminster Abby, we returned to the Eckerd house for a little relaxation before I departed and headed to the Science Museum for the second time to catch the Lord of the Rings Exhibition. The exhibitionw as cool because it showed a lot of the props, costumes, and technology involved in making the tales come to life. It was goodi n my opinion but the tickets could have been a little less pricy in my mind. One more day to relax and cruise the town before I start my internship on Wednesday. I’m actually looking forward to starting work so I have something new to do.
