Well, I’m finally on my way back home to Orlando (as I write this on the plane). As I said in my last post, it’s been a whirlwind of a week. I was home for about 18 hours on Thursday before hoping on a plane to Minnesota to visit home. I’m going to need to recover still from the cruise.
Trip home was short, only three nights, but was a full weekend. I was about to see a few friends but was mostly home for Mom. For those that don’t know, Mom has been working on her Doctorate in Education and had her graduation this past Saturday. So needless to say, it’s been a busy weekend with family and celebrating Mom.
Tomorrow will be my first day back to office after being off for ten days. Here’s to 200+ emails. Yes, that is after I’ve already cleaned out some while I was on the cruise and home. No other major plans coming up in the near future so it will be nice to get back in to my routine and get back to going to the Y.
Well today has been a productive day despite being a complete whirlwind. I debarked from the Disney Wonder around 9 this morning and took Mom and Dad to the airport. Since coming home, I have done all of my laundry and repacked my suitcase for flying out first thing in the morning to Minneapolis. I also got a chance to hit the YMCA today to help burn off some of the great meals I’ve had over the last four days. Just about to go get some dinner now before crashing early but, my latest photos from this past cruise are now up and can be found here or check out the slide show below.

Well, it’s been about two weeks since I came back from probably one of the best vacations I have taken in a long time. I had the unique experience of enjoying the 100th anniversary of Camp Lincoln for Boys in Lake Hubert, MN. It was like taking a trip back and reliving the summers I had as a kid along the shores of Lake Hubert. For those that don’t know, Camp Lincoln is where I spent the summers from 1991 – 1999 as a camper and CIT. At camp I learned to love meeting new people from around the world and fostered a love for sailing. Camp is also one of the reasons why I am here now in Florida and at Walt Disney World. Through the connections I had at camp, I learned about a small school in St. Petersburg, FL called Eckerd College. Thanks to Eckerd, I met some good friends who helped me get a role here at Disney. Camp is also important to my family as it is where Mom and Dad met. The rest, as they say, is history.
The Camp Reunion was a great time reliving old memories and reminiscing with old friends along with meeting many new ones. Justin, Mandy, Sarah and Courtney, thanks for a great time and Mandy, it was great to be out on the water again together. It was also fun to just relive the experience of being at Camp and living in Eagles cabin again after 14 years and singing some of the best songs I remember from the summers growing up! The 100th Dinner was amazing too with great music and a great message from Governer Tim Pawlenty. Thanks again to everyone who made the weekend a blast and to those at Camp that planned such a great event. I hope that I can return to Camp again soon and do another Alumni weekend or summer again soon! Check out below for my pictures from the weekend.
Back in the real world, things are slow around the office these days and I am just doing my thing to keep busy. More vacation coming this weekend when Dad and I will be going to Anaheim and visiting Disneyland . I haven’t been since 2006 but this will be Dad’s first time. I’m sure it will be a great weekend and as an added bonus, I will get to meet up with my friend Julien from Disneyland Paris as well. Look for more updates soon.
Well, I am blogging from 10,000 feet up (even though this will post when I land) on my way back to Orlando from a 3 day weekend trip to New York City with the family. My brother Tim is currently working on his Masters of Fine Arts at Hunter College so Mom, Dad and I took the weekend to go visit.
Despite some rain, the trip was a lot of fun visiting several museums free of charge thanks to working for TWDC (American Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Modern Art) in addition to the Metropolitan Museum of art. In addition to museums, we also met up with my cousin Stephanie, who also lives in NYC. Overall, it was a great trip but, it reminded me of how much I missed London and how much I want to get back over there even for a short visit.
One more day off then back to work on Tuesday. Finally getting used to having Sunday/Monday off. My next mini vacation will be a quick overnight in St. Pete for a lifeguarding class at Eckerd College next weekend then its Orlando until September.

Well, it is officially 2009. Things have been pretty busy the last few months with work and life in general. I spent a wonderful holiday week in Minnesota for Christmas and I couldn’t have been happier to get back to the cold and have a week off! Work has been extremely busy even with the economy the way it is. My area is getting many new and exciting projects that keep coming down the pipe that will keep us busy.
As I sit and reflect back on 2008, I can honestly say that it has been a great year despite a few disappointments in the career department. I celebrate my one year anniversary in my condo. I have worked hard to make my condo mine and I can honestly say that I am extremely happy with how it has turned out. Here’s to many more great years in my condo.
So what will 2009 bring? I can’t really say but, I am looking forward to it. I have several fun and exciting things coming up in the next few weeks that I am looking forward to. Happy new year everyone!
Wow, where do I start? Tis the season for being busy. Work is going well for me these days. We have just started one of the busy times for us at Ticketing with the start of the Cast Member Main Entrance Pass Distribution followed by Cast Complimentary Tickets. This morning I officially started the distribution season with Hong Kong Disneyland’s tickets and the team will be moving on to the domestic files later this week.

Thanksgiving was good around here as well. I was able to get away from the office and head to Naples to visit Grandma and Grandpa as well as my Cousins Lisa and Stuart and Aunt Cynthia. It really is relaxing to get away and just enjoy the great location down there. Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for letting me come down to visit as much as you do!
One downside this Thanksgiving though was my PowerBook G4 deciding to stop working and leave me with a dead hard drive. So on Black Friday, I did my part to help with the economy and went out and got the new iMac I have been looking at for the past few months. Wow is this thing smoking fast compared to my old (almost 5 years old) PowerBook G4. Downside is that I had to buy the new computer a few weeks before I was planning on getting it. Oh well, I’m quite happy with the decision to upgrade.
Not much else to report. I’ll be busy with work for the next few weeks and then it is off to Minnetonka for Christmas. I can’t wait! If you are in Minnetonka December 19-25 and want to hang out, let me know.Â
This weekend I am down in St. Petersburg, FL at Eckerd College to visit some old friends and teach a lifeguard training class. As I sit here in The Pub having dinner, I realize how much Eckerd means to me in my life. Behind me, Pitchers with Professors is going on. Bring one of your Eckerd Professors and get a free pitcher of beer. Students and professors are not only socializing together but, talking and engaging each other on current events, course work or the College Program Series Lecture from last night. The sense of community never leaves here even if the the people change. Eckerd College really is special and I can see why it was listed inColleges That Change Lives. Tomorrow I will be teaching a Lifeguard Challenge course for the pool staff here. Having lifeguarded and taught water safety for 7 years of my life, I have to say, I sometimes miss it.
Teaching aside, life continues to roll on by. I slowly continue to add things to my place that make my home me and make it feel like home. Several more pictures on the wall and just adding the finishing touches. Dad also came to visit the other week which was a nice long weekend for me. We enjoyed the parks as always but also went over to Kennedy Space Center and did the tour over there that I hadn’t done since Space Camp in elementary school. It was also cool to see both Atlantis and Endeavor on the launch pads ready for launch. You don’t realize how big they are until you see them even from a mile away!
Anyways, I think I am going to head out and go stroll around campus and memory lane before the pool party/tip-off tonight here on campus.
So it has been almost two weeks since I was back in Minnesota for my cousin Sarah’s wedding and visiting family and friends back home. I have to say, it was nice to get away from Florida for a nice long weekend for a change. The wedding was very enjoyable and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect weekend weather wise for the event. Sitting on the hsoores of Lake Minnetonka brought back many memories of growing up and lifeguarding. I miss it to a point even though I have an ocean somewhat near by, ok an hour and a half away. Also, we officially welcomed Justin, Sarah’s husband in to the cousins group. Here is the new Webster Cousins:
Wedding aside, the weekend home was also a nice chance to reconnect with some old friends from Hopkins. Ryan, Pete, Paul and Scott, it was great to see all of you at home. For those that I missed, I will have to catch you the next time I am home.
Back in Florida, this past Friday Sawyer and I went down to St. Petersburg for something different to do. We started the morning off at teh Salvador Dali Museum downtown near USF and then spent the rest of the day at Eckerd where I gave Sawyer the full tour and met up with some of my old mentors and friends before attending the Ceremony of Lights for the Class of 2012. Can I just say I officially feel old now that the new Freshman class was all born in the 1990s!
This week is just a slow week around the office. My main manager in on vacation and there really isn’t much going on with distribution being completed. Not much planned for this weekend other than a few meetings and appointments I have with the doctor and dentist. So that’s all for now folks.
Well, I know this is like a week late but I’m back and in the swing of things. Last weekend I had a great mini vacation with dad here in Orlando. We had a nice couple of days in the parks and around town. It was nice to have a four day weekend too. Monday I spent the day in one on one’s with several key managers at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to focus on the upcoming Leadership Casting Call. All of those turned in to very productive meetings. I’m felling pretty good for this time. It’s just time to wait and see what happens.
Back to a normal two day weekend this week. I’m just relaxing at home and was able to get some laps in at the pool earlier today between cleaning. Not much else planned. I’ve got tentative dinner plans with Mark and Kent tomorrow but that’s really it for now. So Thanks again Dad for a great weekend!
