I’m Back

Well, our internet was back yesterday. Turns out a cable on the outside of our building had been cut and that is why we lost cable and all that goes with it. Oh well. Work is going well and I am finalizing my resume for Guest Relations to have it ready to post on Monday. Not much else going on though. Sorry so short.

No Internet

Well folks, I am on day two of no internet or cable at home and BrightHouse for some reason isn’t coming very fast to come fix the problem. Oh well. I have been off the last two days and go back to work tomorrow. Yesterday I slept in and did some work around the house before going over to Joe’s and Paul’s for movie night. Today, I slept in again and I went off to Disney-MGM Studios before coming here to the Magic Kingdom where I am meeting up with Patrick for the night when he gets off of work. Not much else new to report really. More updates once my internet is back.

Mr Scott, One to Beam Up

Well, I was reading through my RSS feeds and noticed that Wil Wheaton had an interesting title on on article. Only after reading it had I discovered that one of my favorite Star Trek characters, Scotty, had passed away this morning. Below is the information that Wil provided:

LOS ANGELES — James Doohan, the burly chief engineer of the Starship Enterprise in the original “Star Trek” TV series and motion pictures who responded to the command “Beam me up, Scotty,” died early Wednesday. He was 85.

Doohan died at 5:30 a.m. at his Redmond, Wash., home with his wife of 28 years, Wende, at his side, Los Angeles agent and longtime friend Steve Stevens said. The cause of death was pneumonia and Alzheimer’s disease, he said.

In the words of Mr. Spock, Live Long and Prosper Mr Doohan

Happy Birthday Disneyland!

“To all who come to this happy place… Welcome! Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America. With the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” – Walt Disney, Opening Day Speech, Disneyland 1955.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Moving on from the new car, last night Patrick and I met up after work and headed over to the AMC at Pleasure Island and caught the 10:15 show of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Patrick really wanted to see the movie and I had to admit that it looked good from the previews. I wasn’t a huge Tim Burton fan after the Nightmare before Christmas so I didn’t know what to expect. With out giving much away, I really enjoyed the movie. It was cute and unlike the original, it followed the book fairly accurately. What I did miss though as the music from the old version. Something about a good catchy song like I’ve got a Golden Ticket or Pure Imagination just seemed to be missing from this version. Very good film though. Go see it if you haven’t or if you missed it because you were waiting for the new Harry Potter book to come out. You wont regret this one.

My New Car!

Well, I am now home. I get an early release from work and came home an hour early. Why? Simply put, things were slow today and it didn’t make sense for me to stay till my out time. So I picked up my new Honda Element. For those that don’t know, I had my 1993 Accord since I started driving in 1999 when we got it from my Grandma. The Accord was a great car and was perfect for me at the time but, almost 12 years later, the car was in need for some work on it and it was time to get a new one before it would cost us more money. I also am a guy on the move and I really don’t know how long I will be at my current place before moving again. The Element just made sense for me. Thank you again Mom and Dad! Pictures to come soon.

Well, I am on my break and sitting outside Mickey’s Toontown Fair in the Magic Kingdom chatting with my friend Patrick while he is at work. Just a quick update on things. Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night with Patrick, loved it and then picked up my new Honda Elemment today. More updates later tonight with more details.

What thought was funny was this cartoon from RCR Wireless News today. Is this really the beginning of total media domination in our lifes?
