So is it just me or does Apple Computer know what they are doing? Yesterday was the Keynote at the Macworld Conference and Mr. Jobs revealed several awesome products. The first two are software related and are iLife ’05 and iWork ’05. iLife is just an updated version of the current one I have (iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand, and iTunes) but, iWork is a new office application that includes the updated version of Keynote (Apple’s PowerPoint Killer) and a new application called Pages. Pages is an awesome looking word processor and has me looking forward to using it over MS Word any day as I already use Keynote instead of PowerPoint. Now on with the hardware!
Also released yesterday was the Mac mini. Now your PC users have no excuse for not getting a Mac! It is small, powerful and affordable. The machine is $499 for the lowest end model. Just remember to BYODKM (Bring your own Display, Keyboard, and Mouse). It will function with any PC monitor, TV and any USB or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. This just rocks and I can’t wait to see how well it does.
Last but not least, we have the iPod Shuffle. This is a flash based iPod that comes in a 512MB and a 1GB version and will cost $99 and $149 respectively. Now I love my iPod and can’t say enough how much I use it but this is just one cooler product that Apple has that will draw people. The iPod Shuffle has no screen so your music is random but at the same time, it is now larger than a pack of gum! If you don’t have the music to fill the larger iPods, get this one. You’ll love it from what I have seen of it.
Well, I just wanted to share my thoughts on these awesome new products.

So as some of you know, I am currently statussed as a CT (casual temporary) cast member here at Walt Disney World. This means that I can be scheduled Full Time hours but I may not get scheduled either. Take next week for example. I was scheduled 42 hours but when the union got involved, I was rescheduled for a mere 30 hours instead. Can I just say I am glad there are shifts available for Extra Hours? So now I have 47 hours after picking up two extra shifts at Mouse Gear over at Epcot. I still love my job, I just hate the way the union dictates things.
Other than work, I am happily settling in here at my new apartment with JK, Norm and Anthony. It’s odd to have to actually commute to work now but it isn’t that far away. Anyways, I’m off to watch Return of the King. Catch you later.

Well, yesterday I moved out of College Program Housing. I am no longer a member of the Walt Disney World College Program. I am now a seasonal cast member at the Walt Disney World Resort pending my transfer to full time status. I left Chatham around 10:30 yesterday morning and made the trek east to Conroy and my new place with JK, Norm and Anthony. I got most of my stuff unpacked but there are still things in boxes. My bed from Ikea isn’t here yet so I have to use an airbed for now but, that works. Most of the stuff I have left is stuff that needs to go under my bed (lifeguard manuals, and what not). I have also realized how much I missed Road Runner. It is just so much faster than the DSL that I had in Chatham. Anyways, I am off to get a costume for Ice Station Cool for tomorrow so I will catch you all later.

Well, it is now officailly 2005. I had a record for me of a 14.5 hour day yesterday. I started at MouseGear in Epcot and then finished at the Emporium. What made it specialw as joining the entire Emporium cast for a toast in the MO-6 parking lot while watching Fantasy in the Sky. Still, I miss being with family. I am in the process now of packing up my apartment once again as I am moving up soem stuff tomorrow night after work and then the rest on Monday when I officially move in with JK, Norm and Anthony. So back to packing and Happy New Year!

So today was a nice and needed day off. Between the Christmas rush and the park closing at capacity the other day, I needed it. So what do I do? I meet up with Steve and Emily from Eckerd and head to Epcot. Not too busy though. I had to sing in the 5pm Candlelight so they decided to come along for the day. It was pretty fun and not too crowded in my mind. Today also marks less than a week left before I move. I move out of Chatham on Monday and in to JKs the same day. What craziness! Oh well, I guess I am going to get back to sorting stuff for packing.

He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant women. He grew up in still another villafe, where he worked in a carpenter shop until he was thirty. Then for three years he was an itinerant preacher. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family or owned a house. He didn’t go to college. He never visited a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place where he was born. He did none of the things one usually associated with greatness. He had no credentials but himself. He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. He was turned over to his enemies and went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross, between two thieves. While he was dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing, the only property he had on Earth. When he was dead, he was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend. Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today he is considered by many to be the central figure of the human race and the leader of mankind’s progress.
All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on Earth as much as that one solitary life.

Well, I know that this post will be posted on Christmas Day due to the time but, my Christmas Eve was almost as memorable here as it would have been at home. I worked at the Emporium this morning from 10:00 – 16:30 after getting an early release thirty minutes early so I could try and make it to Epcot to be a part of the choir tonight. Well, I made it to Epcot in time and was able to change and made it in to the cast tree for the Candlelight Processional thanks to my friend Mark who placed my name on the standby list earlier ion the day. So, instead of sitting at Grandma and Grandpa’s tonight, I sang two shows for several thousand guests at Epcot with Gary Sinise. How cool is that? And did I mention that I got to enjoy the fireworks too? After leaving Epcot, a few of us from Candlelight met up at Mark’s house and watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and just relaxed. Again, not family but great company. I work Christmas Day but, I don’t have to work until 18:45 in the evening. Lucky me. Anyways, hope everyone has a great night.

So last night I got to meet Edward James Olmos at Candlelight Processional. I made myself look like a fool though. I was getting a glass of water from the cooler and he was coming through thanking all the cast members who were singing and then he got to me while I was still with my back to him and was sorta upset that I didn’t realize he was there. I mean, I was getting water and not too many other narrators have come down the line to say hello. I guess all is fine though because he laughed when I said I was sorry and then shook his hand. Still not as bad as my roommate who forgot that Marlee Matlin was deaf when he started talking to her in her dressing room!

Ok folks, I know I work late and that at times, it can get somewhat chilly in Florida. But last night was just crazy. I got out from work at 1:40 and took the bus to Westclock as usual. I make my trek to my car only to discover that I have ICE on my windows and that I need to scrape it off before I can drive home! Who in Florida has an ice scraper? Thanks to the defrost and the blue juice, ten minutes later I am on my way out of the parking lot. So the lesson learned, it can get as cold as 32ยบ in Florida!

Well, today marks the start of Christmas week. The crowds are aleady starting to increase and guess waht folks, this aint nothing yet! Can’t mention the numbers in the park but I can say it is a lot. I went in to casting on Friday and filled out my transfer application for full time status so now it is just time to play the waiting game. Until then, work, work and work.
